Odessa Young gives a fireball performance as 18 year old Lily, and has a honest and likeable chemistry with her three close friends played by Hari Nef, Abra and Suki Waterhouse.
The girls are expected adhere to impossible high and contradictory values, and when an anonymous hacker maliciously releases intimate emails and pictures, cyber-bullying, slut-shaming and revenge porn leading to mob rule and murder.
Sisterly shotgun solidarity then erupts in a deadly combination of 1988’s black comedy, Heathers, and the political violence of The Purge franchise.
With the script’s number one target being society’s hypocrisy, and the filmmakers filter their angry intent through split scenes, lengthy single takes, bold colours, and a great soundtrack, to deliver one knockout scene after another.
It’s smart, energetic, funny, finely judged and always offering sympathy to our gun-toting quartet, plus the final line is a killer.
